finally...a closing.

Today we closed on the Dawn Hill house. After having two contracts fall through and penny pinching as we waited, it feels so good to have that house over and done with. Check deposited. Closure on a project well done. Josh did a great job and tonight we're celebrating! Woohoo!

happy 2 months...

Today Sydney is 2 months old. It's really hard for me to believe that two whole months have come and gone. She feels bigger to me everyday. It seems like she changes and learns something new everyday. She just discovered her hands...every once and awhile she'll see one and then just stare at it, it's so cute. She's started to smile a lot more and responding to us a lot. She's sleeping great, which is SUCH a blessing. We just think she's pretty great :)

happy valentine's day...

finally...some smiles :)

Finally, we get to see her smile. I can't tell you how great it is to see some other emotion besides crying and indifference. To finally see that she enjoys some things and responds to us is so exciting. It's like we're starting to see who she really is :) And...after a lot of tries, smiles were caught on film. The first picture is the only smile I got a shot of. The second picture is her getting mad at me for taking 500 pictures of her with a flash in her eyes. Her smiles are still very sporadic so they're hard to catch. There is a small one at the end of the first video though.

If you think of it, pray for us. Josh and I are coming down with a cold or the flu or something and Sydney's acting like she's not feeling too great either. Other than feeling a bit under the weather, things are good in the Boozell house :) Unitl next time...enjoy a couple of the latest videos :)

growing and sleeping....

Sydney is now up to 9 1/2 pounds as of Wednesday. It's hard to believe that she's growing SO fast. She still feels so tiny! This has been such a good week of getting into a rhythm/"normal" life. She is finally starting to sleep a little bit more regularly. And that is ALL thanks to this magical swaddle blanket. We borrowed it from our friends Greg and Carolyn who have a daughter, Elisa, that is 2 weeks older than Sydney. This blanket has done WONDERS for us!! Seriously, she slept for 5 hours during the night twice this week!! When I woke up it freaked me out and I had to make sure she was still breathing. Once I realized she was sleeping soundly and enjoying it as much as we were, I considered it Christmas come early (or late) got a bottle ready and enjoyed a few more minutes of peace and quiet before she woke up.

Speaking of sleep...man, I cannot wait until I get to really sleep again and this week has been a little light in the darkness showing me that you CAN sleep more than 2 hours in a row when you have a baby :) I truly never knew how little sleep you could get and still function and never really appreciated how amazing a good cup of coffee was until now. Kudos to all the moms out there, this is tougher than it looks :)

and then there were three...

Well, we just ended our last week of visitors. Sydney had a month of quality time with all of her grandparents. It was so good to see family and each week they were such a big help to us. It's nice to finally be able to get into a routine...but I have to say, our house already feels a little empty. Thanks for visiting grandmas and grandpas :)

Here are pictures from Dad and Di's visit this past week...
